Keshot Added to Climate Change Exhibition
The California Academy of Sciences, a natural history and science museum located in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, incorporated Keshot photo booths in the museum’s recent green remodel.
Reopened in fall 2008, the redesigned museum integrated two photo booths in its California & Climate Change room, which houses a permanent exhibit on how climate change is transforming natural habitats in the state
In addition to working with the Academy to design the permanent exhibit, Keshot also developed proprietary technology especially for the photo booths’ graphic user interface, which engages museum-goers in an interactive dialogue that encourages them to send a photo and video online postcard, and also asks them to help the environment by making a pledge to reduce their carbon footprint.
Keshot worked with the California Academy of Sciences to develop:
An engaging permanent exhibit that furthers the Academy’s goal of reducing carbon emissions through user participation
Customized, eye-catching photo booths equipped with interactive technology that creates a dialogue with users, concluding in their pledge to help the environment
Proprietary technology for a rotating “pledge collage” that incorporates user pledges and broadcasts them on a large plasma screen in the exhibit room
A customized graphic user interface designed to generate traffic and encourage user participation
An effective marketing campaign that generates brand awareness through viral marketing for a minimal initial investment
A database of user e-mails that can be utilized for future marketing campaigns
Pledges are entered into the Academy’s monthly Green Star Award contest, which offers winners a free tote bag and return pass to the Academy.
