Telcel of Mexico Partners with Keshot to Ramp Up Christmas Sales
July, 13th 2011, Los Angeles
During the holiday season, Telcel, the main cell phone company in Mexico, partnered with Keshot Co to increase sales of its USB broadband, pre-paid calling card services by placing 20 internet-enabled photo booths in malls throughout Mexico City and its suburbs.
Telcel was seeking a new and innovative approach to reach customers and increase sales of their products. Beginning in November, 2010, Keshot provided its new photo booth, which is fully customized with Telcel brand and messaging.
Keshot photo booths integrated into Telcel mall displays to customers to take either a photo or video then send the image instantly in an electronic postcard customized with the Telcel brand via email to three friends. Each Keshot photo booth was outfitted with Telcel USB broadband card to send the images via the internet.
At each mall location, Telcel’s brand ambassadors introduced customers to various cell phone and various products offered by the company while encouraging them to take a picture or video. Users of the photo booth and their friends were told all images in the electronic postcards were sent via Telcel USB broadband card. One user of the photo booth exclaimed, ‘I love taking pictures! This is so much fun. Can I take it home with me?’ Most users enjoyed using the photo booths requesting more than one session to send fun videos and pictures to their friends.
For the first two weeks of the campaign, more than 6,000 pictures and videos were sent out to friends and family, resulting in more than 8,500 email addresses for Telcel future email marketing campaign.
