Keshot Generates Real-Time Social Media Buzz At the Sonic the Hedgehog 20th Anniversary Celebration
July, 13th 2011, Los Angeles
To mark a milestone anniversary, the video game character, Sonic the Hedgehog, celebrated 20 years of gaming fame in Los Angeles. During the event, Keshot Photo Booth launched its unique social media functionality, Twitter Direct. Now, event attendees will be able to generate Twitter conversations on their pages directly from the Keshot Photo Booth, along with a link to their pictures taken at the event. All users of Twitter Direct were invited to follow Sonic the Hedgehog tweets increasing the brand’s total number of Twitter followers and boosting brand awareness.
Sonic’s goal for the event was to generate a social media buzz around the event. Keshot Photo Booth capabilities provided a social media connection, linking Facebook to the event using the FanCapture function. This function seamlessly integrates into the event, providing users with a direct Facebook connection and an opportunity to become fans of Sonic the Hedgehog fan page. Fans at the event uploaded photos directly to Sonic’s Facebook fan page, and then an invitation is sent via email to find their photos inside the Sonic’s Facebook page, and tag their photos.
Keshot Photo Booths provided users the opportunity to send their photos by email, Facebook and Twitter, or all three. With this combination of social media networks, Sonic’s event bridged the live event with the social media world generating buzz and awareness among the users and their social media circle of friends.
“Brands are transitioning into the social media arena, seeking exciting new opportunities to generate conversations with customers. At Keshot, we are committed to offering social media solutions to connect brands with their prospects and customers. We selected the Sonic the Hedgehog event to launch the new and unique Twitter Direct social media functionality because of the excitement generated by this event,” said Juan Benavides, CEO of Keshot. “Fans are so engaged with this event, now they have an opportunity to extend their experience beyond the event with Twitter Direct and FanCapture.”
